My thoughts exactly. It reminded me of the the added incest angle between the Hamleighs for the Pillar of the Earth mini series. My guess is they want to bring more tension between the Merthin/Caris storyline by having her marry his Boss. At least that is what I am guessing.
The book purist in me will just have to separate the two from each other, so I can enjoy the show. I just hope it does not deviate too much, particularly Caris’ storyline, because she is my favorite character.
